A mountain bike means adventure and freedom and children love those feelings at all ages. Children are always in search of something new and fun, they need to consume their energy in different ways and by facing new challenges.

Our MTB Skills Sessions offer a break from your normal holiday clubs by offering the thrill and excitement of mountain biking. They are held in a safe environment outside of the woods and are recommended as a precursor to our Kids Trail Ride.

Kids MTB Courses

The challenge of riding a mountain bike makes children proud of themselves, because it is not as easy to learn how to ride and fully enjoy a mountain bike. Although, of course, it is no harder to learn to ride a mountain bike than it is to learn any other bike. They can have a lot of fun with their friends when mountain biking and having fun is what being a child is all about. It gives them the opportunity to explore and to overcome what may at first seem difficult and daunting to them.

We offer mountain bike courses for children aged 8-12 and 12-16. We recommend the Skills session followed by the Trail Ride.

Coach: Mark

Hi I’m Mark! I’ve been mountain biking and racing for over 34 years. I’ve been coaching mountain biking for 13 years and developing core skill rider assessments and courses in the UK and Europe.

I started racing XC back in the 80’s on a tricked up stealth Kona Lave Dome at club and national level. More recently I race downhill and enduro style events on my current weapon of choice a bespoke Commencal Meta SX Ltd Edition. I love riding my local trails and building exciting lines, the social and mental health aspect of just getting out on your bike shredding the trails; in the UK, Europe and the world. Coaching has just added another dynamic to that seeing clients learn new skills, gain confidence, conquer their fears, progression in their riding resulting in personal accomplishment and “that big smile at the end” says it all – just love it !

Coach: Suzanne

Hi, I’m Suzanne. I have been mountain biking for 15 years and racing for over 10 years. It’s been a dream of mine to be a mountain bike coach and to share my skills and knowledge and inspire riders of all ages to get on a bike and ride their local woods. From core skills mountain biking to hitting jumps and drops, I really enjoy watching my clients grow in confidence, develop their skills and give big high fives at the end if each session!

I started racing 4-cross in 2006 at national level and progressed to world cup level. I made the natural progression to racing Downhill Mountain biking in 2012 and raced my first downhill mountain bike world cup in Elite women’s in 2014 at Fort William. After a couple of years retiring from racing to travel and ride the worlds best bike parks from Morzine to Whistler, I have now started racing Downhill again this year which I will continue to at grass roots and national level. I love riding at my local spots at Woburn and Chicksands and like to venture around the country trail riding, downhilling and hitting bigger jumps.
